baby stuff

I am overwhelmed with the amount of baby stuff out there. Just looking at cribs today has me frazzled. Do I get the convertible or not? What type of mattress should I get? What color do we want? Then I'm looking at ratings and reviews to make sure the ones I like aren't gonna collapse on the kid. Goodness gracious! I wish I could just show someone what I like and have them make all the decisions. I did that with my wedding and it turned out great! Obviously, I don't do well when I have to make decisions with too many options. I always second-guess myself and feel like I have overlooked something. Give me 2-3 options and I'm good to go...otherwise, I panic.

And now I've realized that in about 5 months, I will be making the decisions (along with Neil) for a long time in this baby's life. Cue the anxiety now. There is so much to decide on and the baby isn't even here yet. It's so strange to know that I will be a guiding force in this baby's life. I have so much confidence in Neil being able to handle it. He is level-headed, controlled, and always thinks things through before acting. Me on the other hand? Well, I'm the emotional, anxiety-ridden, wear my heart and emotions on my sleeve type of girl. Neil and I = complete opposites. Hopefully the baby will be calm like him! :)

You need the book Baby Bargains!! It is a must-have. It reviews all baby stuff for you, and gives you the best option for three money budget categories (small budget, medium budget and big budget!). They also get input from mom's so it is a real-life review.

We picked our crib, swing, bouncy seat, etc, etc, etc, based on that book and nothing disappointed us. It also tells you what things you can do without and what things you will need. We loved that book. In fact, I just picked it up the other day b/c it also reviews potty training chairs. I highly recommend it. :)
