10 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 10 weeks (5/19/11)

Size of baby: Baby McKnight is the size of a prune (approximately 1.2 inches and .14 ounces)

What baby is up to this week: the tissues and organs are rapidly developing and maturing. Vital organs are starting to function. The baby is swallowing and kicking. Nails are forming on the fingers and toes and peach fuzz is growing on the skin. Limbs can bend and the spinal cord is visible through the skin.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 1 pound of pregnancy weight and 9 pounds of fertility weight gain. A total of 10 pounds to lose so far.

Maternity Clothes: No more jeans. They are just too uncomfortable. It is leggings, stretchy pants, or dresses from now on.

Gender:  Very anxious to find out!

Movement: None yet.

Sleep: Sleep is great until I wake up to use the bathroom which occurs every 3 hours give or take. I wake up exhausted every morning, but I am going to sleep very easily.

What I miss: Ribs. I still really want some.

Cravings: Macaroni and cheese. I'm eating some right now actually. So good.

Symptoms: Fatigue, frequent urination, a little heartburn, and extreme thirst.

It's too hard to hide my belly now. I've had several people ask if I'm pregnant and when I confirm it, they say "well, I was wondering but didn't want to say anything." My awesome co-worker is going to let me borrow some maternity clothes and I'm so excited to have them even if I can't wear them all yet.

Thank you for all the prayers and positive thoughts! Next ultrasound is June 14. Please keep the people of Joplin in your prayers. I just can't imagine what they are going through right now.
