Neil and I went to see Dr. B on Friday. When I called the nurse after my miscarriage, she told me that they just needed me to come in so they could take my blood. When we were called back on Friday, I ran into Dr. B in the hallway. He immediately grasped my arm and told me how sorry he was. I was so touched that he knew me by sight, much less that he would stop while with a patient to say such kind words.
The nurse made my day by saying that Dr. B wanted to do an ultrasound. Dr. B said that my uterus was clear and it all looked good so we went back to his office to discuss our plan. Oh how I love plans. I have been lost in the past week because our plan was in disarray. I just can't handle it. So here is the new plan. For the next month or until my next cycle, we are trying NOT to get pregnant. My uterus is not ready. On day 3 of my cycle, I go in for an ultrasound. On Days 3-7, I will take Femara (an oral pill) and some type of gonadotropin (this will be a SHOT...oh my!). I'm not sure the time period on the shot at this time. Maybe some of you more experienced fertility gurus can tell me. Then I'll go back for an ultrasound to check my follicle levels. I will take an Ovidrel shot to stimulate ovulation 36 hours before we do another insemination. We will do 2-3 cycles of this type and if they do not work, we will proceed to in vitro.
Please, please pray that we do not have to do in vitro. My insurance does not cover this procedure and it will be very expensive for us. We are saving like crazy already because we thought we would be doing in vitro in January, but then I became pregnant. We are back to saving, but would love to be able to do this without using our savings. I believe in the power of prayer so please pray for us!
Our spirits are high and our faith is big. In fact, I feel that Neil and I are closer than ever. Thank you all for supporting us throughout this journey.
Love to you all!

Hey girl, the shots are sometimes also called Follistim or Bravelle, you may only take those around days 7-10, just a few days. I believe that's what I did the first time I had to take them with Femara. It's just to help stimulate and get those follicles ready! :) Hopefully you won't have too many as one cycle I had 9 follicles and had to have a reduction before the IUI. I wish you luck on this next cycle and glad to see you guys have a plan!
I love a plan too girl and I feel so happy for you that you have one! What a wonderful doctor to sotp you and say that to you. You are in good hands -- a caring doctor, praying friends and a God that will provide!! Praying with you!!
